Five arrested as police seize traffickable amount of illicit firearms and drugs in Mildura

Police have arrested and charged five men after conducting a series of search warrants this week targeting illicit firearms and drug trafficking.

With assistance from the dog squad, detectives from Mildura’s Divisional Response Unit executed four search warrants at properties located in Mildura.

During the search warrants, police located and seized:

• Four handguns

• A taser

• 20 grams of methamphetamine

• O/C (pepper) spray

• Various amounts of cannabis, MDMA, heroin and prescription medication.

Among those arrested included:

• A 39-year-old Mildura man who was charged with possessing a traffickable quantity of firearms, possessing a drug of dependence, and further firearms offences. He was remanded to appear at Mildura Magistrates Court on 13 June 2023.

• A 39-year-old Mildura man was charged with possessing and trafficking a drug of dependence. He was remanded to appear at Mildura Magistrates Court on 13 June 2023.

• A 42-year-old Mildura man was charged with possessing and trafficking a drug of dependence. He was bailed to appear at Mildura Magistrates Court on 1 August 2023.

• A 21-year-old Mildura man was charged with possessing a drug of dependence bail on charges of possessing a drug of dependence. He was bailed to appear at Mildura Magistrates Court on 1 August 2023.

• A 41-year-old Mildura man was charged for weapons offences and released on summons.
