Police are investigating a motorcycle crash which occurred in Footscray earlier today.
Investigators have been told a black Yamaha motorcycle was travelling east along Sunshine Road about 8.45am.
The rider lost control of the bike as he approached Roberts Street.
The bike slid across the intersection while the rider slid into the rear of a stationary SUV.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the rider, a 23-year-old man from Sunshine, was taken to hospital suffering serious injuries.
Investigators wish to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash or the motorcycle prior to the incident.
