Forensic Hospital employee wins NSW Health Nurse Leader of the Year

On Thursday 16 November 2023, NSW Health held the 2023 Excellence in Nursing and Midwifery Awards.

Jane Jackson, Nurse Manager at the Forensic Hospital was nominated in the Nursing and Midwifery Leadership Award category, which recognises outstanding leadership in the areas of clinical care, management, education or research.

We are delighted to share Jane was awarded the winner of this category, acknowledging her outstanding contribution to our organisation, staff and patients.

Jane joined Justice Health NSW in 2009 as a Nursing Unit Manager within the Forensic Hospital’s Austinmer Women’s Unit. She then joined the Forensic Hospital’s Quality and Risk team, working her way up to Nurse Manager, Staff Safety and Restrictive Practices. This month, she was appointed to the position of Nurse Manager Quality, Safety, and Innovation.

Jane is passionate about service improvement, is a role model, mentor, and someone whose values and way of working sets the standard for better healthcare for staff and patients.
