Four charged following investigation into drug supply in Gunnedah – Strike Force Pinkerton

Four people have been charged following an investigation into drug supply in the state’s northeast.

In December 2021, detectives attached to Oxley Police District established Strike Force Pinkerton to investigate the supply of methylamphetamine in the Gunnedah area.

The investigation was assisted by officers from Western Region Enforcement Squad, Campsie Police Area Command, Southwest Metro Region, and the Dog Unit.

Following extensive inquiries, investigators executed four search warrants just after 7am yesterday (Wednesday 29 November 2023), at homes on Lawson and Herbert Avenue and High Street, Gunnedah, and one on Drummond Street, Belmore, seizing methylamphetamine, cannabis, tobacco, mobile phones, tablets, cash and documentation.

Three women from Gunnedah – aged 52, 45 and 22 – were taken to Gunnedah Police Station, while a 41-year-old man from Belmore was taken to Campsie Police Station.

The 45-year-old woman was charged with three counts of supply prohibited drug, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime intent to conceal, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, and fail to comply digital evidence access order direction.

She was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court today (Thursday 30 November 2023).

The man was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug > commercial quantity, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime intent to conceal, knowingly direct activities of criminal group, supply prohibited firearm to unauthorised person, supply firearm to person unauthorised to possess it, and fail to comply digital evidence access order direction.

He was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court today (Thursday 30 November 2023).

The 52-year-old woman was charged with knowingly deal with proceeds of crime intent to conceal, and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

She was given conditional bail to appear at Gunnedah Local Court on Tuesday 5 December 2023.

The other woman was charged with supply prohibited drug, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, recklessly deal with proceeds of crime, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, fail to comply digital evidence access order direction, and possess prohibited drug.

She was given conditional bail to appear at Gunnedah Local Court on Tuesday 6 February 2023.
