Fourth man charged after fatal Darlinghurst brawl, NSW

A fourth man has been charged with affray following the death of a man in Darlinghurst last month.

Emergency services were called to Oxford Street just after 12.30am on Saturday 9 April 2022, following reports of a brawl.

Officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command attended and located the 23-year-old man unconscious with serious head injuries.

He was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he died on Monday 11 April 2022.

Detectives from Surry Hills Police Area Command established Strike Force Nadzah to investigate the man’s death.

Initial inquiries led to the arrest of three men who have been charged with affray and are currently before the courts.

About 9.15am today (Wednesday 11 May 2022), a 19-year-old man attended Surry Hills Police Station, where he was arrested by police.

The man was charged with affray and granted strict conditional bail to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 15 June 2022.
