A free outdoor gym opens at Berryman Oval, making fitness more accessible for Trundle residents.

Funded by a $60,000 grant from the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund Round 4, the new facility features a variety of free-standing exercise equipment installed on a softfall surface.

This addition complements the recent upgrades to the skate park and cricket nets at Berryman Oval, creating a vibrant recreation hub for the community.

Cr Louise O’Leary said the new gym has been a high priority for the local women, especially those who don’t have easy access to a gym.

“Previously, the closest gym was over 75 kilometres away in Parkes. Now, mums, aunties, and grandparents can stay active while waiting for their children to finish playing sports,” said Cr O’Leary.

The new equipment caters to a wide range of users. Families can enjoy a healthy activity together, while school children can use it for alternative sports or training. The gym is also perfect for sporting clubs, bootcamps, or simply socialising with friends.

The free outdoor gym at Berryman Oval is more than just a fitness facility; it’s a place for the community to come together, connect, and celebrate an active lifestyle. With its vibrant atmosphere and diverse equipment options, this new addition is sure to become a popular destination for residents of all ages and backgrounds.
