Cool off and celebrate International Day of People with Disability as Council offers free pool entry to local individuals with disability and their carers.

Celebrated annually on 3 December, International Day of People with Disability helps increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions.

The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities toward an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post-COVID-19 world.’

Camden residents can celebrate for two weeks with free pool entry to Mt Annan Leisure Centre and Camden War Memorial Pool between Saturday 27 November and Friday 10 December 2021.

“Council aims to foster and enhance participation by all residents in the life of the community and is committed to building and maintaining strong links with our residents who have disabilities and their carers,’ a Council spokesperson said.

“This includes wet wheelchair access to Camden’s two water play spaces located at Curry Reserve in Elderslie and Dawson-Damer Park in Oran Park.”

Residents can gain free access to Mt Annan Leisure Centre and Camden War Memorial Pool by signing in at each venue and showing their carers or disability card.
