From NZ to NT – Kiwis encouraged to ‘Seek Different’

NT Government

A new tourism campaign has been launched in New Zealand to encourage travel to the NT, to boost our visitor economy and create local jobs.

Starting this week, the campaign champions the individuality of NZ travellers while highlighting the Territory’s unique tourism offerings, from rich culture and history to breathtaking landscapes and spectacular wildlife.

The campaign will target “High Value Travellers” those seeking authentic holidays where they can experience the local culture and get a taste of everyday life.

High Value Travellers are crucial to our tourism economy, they stay an average of 15 nights when visiting and spend 2-3 times more than the average traveller.

New Zealand has nearly one million High Value Travellers considering a trip to Australia in the next few years, so now is the time to act.

Tourism NT has partnered with House of Travel to offer great travel packages, specifically highlighting the ability for New Zealander’s to travel from Auckland to the Red Centre by lunchtime.

Using the Territory’s nature and wildlife, opportunities for adventure, multicultural food offerings, with coastal imagery, waterfalls and waterholes, the campaign will run in paid media spots, social media as well as familiarisation tours and trade activities.

Quotes from Minister for Tourism and Hospitality, Nicole Manison:

“The NZ Seek Different tourism campaign will promote the Territory’s unique Aboriginal culture, nature and wildlife, food and drink offerings, outdoor activities and more!

Extending our domestic marketing to New Zealand travellers will help the NT meet its target of a $3.01 billion visitor economy by 2030, creating well-paying local jobs and a strong and sustainable tourism industry.

So if you have family and friends in NZ tell them to pack their jandals and book a holiday to the NT.”
