The Soul Street New Year’s Eve (NYE) celebration in Byron Bay starts at 4pm on 31 December.
The activities begin in Jonson Street with children’s entertainment, street performers, creative workshops for people of ages and outdoor dining.
There will be costume making, a drumming workshop and a parade to Dening Park.
The main stage will be set up at Dening Park in Bay Street, near the Byron Bay surf club with music and performances from 6pm to 12:30am.

There will also be food trucks set up near the main stage and Council’s Waste team is asking everyone to BYO cups, plate and cutlery to try to make NYE a low waste event.
A wash station will be set up by Mullum Cares so people can wash their dirty dishes and take them home.
“We have been working closely with police for many months to make sure this is fun, family-friendly and safe event and there will be absolutely no tolerance for anti-social behaviour,” Vanessa Adams, Director Corporate and Community Services, said.
Much of the CBD will be closed to traffic although the town bypass will remain open.
Roads and some carparks will be closed gradually from 6am, 31 December with everything to be open again by 8am on New Year’s Day.
There will be a heavy police presence in Byron Bay and much of the town centre, beaches and parks are alcohol-free zones and this will be strongly enforced on NYE.
Council’s Enforcement team will also be patrolling, issuing fines for illegal camping and parking offences.
