Funding to support Sydney CBD activations

NSW Government

CBD activation grants are available to businesses, creatives and community groups to help encourage people back into the city centre.

The NSW Government and City of Sydney are jointly funding a $3 million program to revitalise the Sydney CBD this summer.

Grants of between $5000 and $50,000 are available to support partnerships that aim to attract and entertain visitors.

The grants will support ideas to activate outdoor vacant spaces including for live music, creative experiences and cultural programming.

Businesses, retailers, hospitality and community services are encouraged to apply for a grant to help kick-start the COVID-19 economic recovery.

Applications for CBD activation grants program will close on Monday 7 December 2020.

The NSW Government will provide $1.5 million towards the CBD activation grant program as part of its $20 million partnership with the City of Sydney. The partnership will help to support the COVID-19 Recovery Plan.

This support follows the NSW Government’s commitment to reactivating the Sydney CBD and the work of the Alfresco Taskforce to open up new dining and drinking opportunities heading into summer.
