We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to be part of the Yarrawonga Multisport Stadium Fundraising Committee to support the charitable activities for the development of the precinct.

The Stadium will include a modern 2-court facility which will service the entire community with the ability to support sports development, play and major events in basketball, netball, table tennis and volleyball, as well as cater for the evolving formats of fitness classes and community activities.

Council’s Panel of Administrators Chair, John Tanner AM said this was an opportunity for passionate community members to be part of the Committee and its role in the project.

“Having locals lead the fundraising efforts for the stadium will be important to the backing and support needed for its development. People will get a lot out of working for the committee and in knowing they are making a significant contribution to the community,” Mr Tanner said.

“The complex is planned to be a high-quality facility to accommodate the region’s growth and mass participation in sporting and recreational events. These activities should bring social, health and economic benefits to the community and it is one which many people cannot wait to see come to fruition.”

The committee seeks to secure donations from businesses and individuals through donations, sponsorship and fundraising events, to achieve a community contribution of $750,000 towards the overall development of the project.

Following the July Scheduled Council Meeting, Council approved the concept design for stage one of the complex to progress to a detailed design for construction.

Expressions of interest to join the Yarrawonga Multisport Stadium Fundraising Committee can be made on Council’s website here.

The project is jointly funded by Moira Shire Council, the Australian Government Community Development Grants Programme, the Victorian Government Local Sports Infrastructure Fund and a Community Sports Infrastructure Loan, as well as the Yarrawonga-Mulwala Basketball Association. Community donations are still an important part of the funding and development of the precinct.
