Further charge laid re Sunshine West fatal collision

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have laid a further charge following a fatal collision at Sunshine West this morning.

A 22-year-old Wyndham Vale woman has also been charged with dangerous driving causing death.

Earlier today she was charged with registered owner fail to nominate driver, state false name and address, possess drug of dependence, possess controlled weapon, breach bail condition and commit an indictable offence whilst on bail.

She will appear before the Sunshine Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.

The charges follow a collision at the intersection of Links Street and Glengala Road just before 1am on Thursday, 9 June.

It’s alleged a white Audi sedan collided with a gold Honda sedan before both vehicles crashed into two parked cars on Links Road.

The sole occupant of the Honda, a 69-year-old Sunshine West man, sadly died at the scene.

The 22-year-old occupant of the Audi stayed at the scene while a number of other occupants ran away.

Police have spoken to a number of witnesses but would still like to hear from anyone who has yet to come forward.
