Further charges laid after officers assaulted at Central Railway Station, NSW

Further charges have been laid against a man who allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted two police officers at Central Railway Station at the weekend.

About 6.10pm on Saturday (6 June 2020), officers from Sydney City Police Area Command were at Central Railway Station to move on a group of people following the conclusion of a rally, when they allegedly became aggressive towards police.

As officers from the Public Order and Riot Squad (PORS) attempted to remove him, he allegedly resisted and was placed under arrest.

The 21-year-old man was taken to Surry Hills Police Station and charged with offensive behaviour and resist police. He remains before the courts.

Following further inquiries, officers issued a Court Attendance Notice (CAN) to the 21-year-old man for two counts of assault officer in execution of duty.

The Mt Druitt man is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 27 August 2020.
