Further three charged over affray – Warrawong

Three more people have been charged over an alleged affray in the state’s south last week.

Emergency services were called to Wegit Way, Warrawong, about 6.30pm on Wednesday 22 November 2023, following reports of a brawl.

When officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District arrived, they found a 39-year-old woman suffering stab wounds. She was taken to Wollongong Hospital, where she remains in a stable condition.

Four juveniles have since been charged in relation to this incident and remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, a 37-year-old woman and two girls – both aged 17 – were arrested when they attended Lake Illawarra Police Station about 2.20pm yesterday (Wednesday 29 November 2023).

The woman has now been charged with affray, and armed with intent to commit indictable offence. She’s been granted conditional bail to appear at Port Kembla Local Court on Wednesday 13 December 2023.

One of the teenagers was charged with affray, and armed with intent to commit indictable offence, while the second teen was charged with affray.

Both were granted conditional bail to appear at a children’s court on Tuesday 12 December 2023.
