Further two charged after investigation into stabbing in Broken Hill

A man and woman will face court today following an investigation into the stabbing of another man in the state’s far west last week.

About 11pm on Tuesday 20 June 2023, police were called to a home on Wolfram Street, Broken Hill, after reports of a domestic-related incident involving two men known to each other.

A 37-year-old man was taken to Broken Hill Hospital before he was airlifted to Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment of a stab wound, where he remains in a critical condition.

Officers attached to Barrier Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation under Strike Force Burrough.

A 28-year-old woman charged last week remains before the courts.

Following inquiries, about 11am on Thursday (22 June 2023), officers attended a home on Wolfram Street, Broken Hill, and arrested a 39-year-old woman.

She was taken to Broken Hill Police Station and charged with do act intending to pervert the course of justice and hinder investigation serious indictable offence of other.

Following further inquiries, about 11.30am on Thursday (22 June 2023), officers attended a home on Morish Street, Broken Hill, and arrested a 27-year-old man.

He was taken to Broken Hill Police Station and charged with cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent, do act intending to pervert the course of justice and hinder investigation serious indictable offence of other.

Both were refused bail and appeared at Broken Hill Local Court on Friday 23 June 2023, where they were formerly refused bail to appear at the same court today (Monday 26 June 2023).
