The Crisafulli Government is delivering for Queensland with more grassroots sport infrastructure upgrades through the Games On! program, more Play On! Sports Vouchers, and investing in grassroots sport through the Games Legacy Fund, in the 2026-27 Budget.
The $440.1 million Sport, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games Budget is strengthening the foundations for a fresh start with better services through a stronger economy.
In 2026-27, the second round of the Games On! program is kicking off, with upgrades to grassroots sporting facilities, while continuing to roll-out round one upgrades across the State, in the $250 million program.
To get more kids off screens and into sport, the Crisafulli Government is delivering more $200 Play On! Sports Vouchers, boosting activity, enhancing accessibility and reducing cost of living pressures on families.
The Play On! Sports Vouchers are locked in for the next four years, delivering relief you can rely on and helping more kids get involved in sport, after Labor failed to fund sports vouchers for kids into the future.
Delivering benefits that last beyond 2032, a major upgrade to Suncorp Stadium will be funded through the Games Legacy Fund alongside an investment in grassroots sport through the regions. These upgrades will deliver a world-class fan experience, including Australian-first 360-degree halo screens inside the stadium, new entertainment zones and activating the stadium precinct.
After 1200 days of Labor Games chaos, the Crisafulli Government is not only getting the Games back on track, we are delivering upgrades to grassroot sports across the State, so the benefits of the Games can be enjoyed by all of Queensland through Games On! and the Games Legacy Fund.
Treasurer David Janetzki said the 2026-27 Budget was about delivering for Queensland with better services through a stronger economy.
“We are delivering on our promises, with relief you can rely on through responsible decisions for now and the future, and no new or increased taxes,” Treasurer Janetzki said.
“This Budget strengthens the foundations we’ve laid in making Queensland safer, restoring health services, delivering a place to call home for more Queenslanders, building generational infrastructure, getting the Games back on track, as well as playing our part to ease national cost of living pressures.”
Acting Minister for Sport and Racing and Acting Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Andrew Powell said the Crisafulli Government was delivering for all Queenslanders.
“We want Queensland to be the home of Australian sport and we’re doing that by making sport more accessible for more Queensland families,” Acting Minister Powell said.
“Play On! Sports Vouchers deliver relief you can rely on and boost participation, so that we can build healthier communities for the future,” Acting Minister Powell said.
“As we prepare for 2032, this Budget builds on the momentum, delivering a lasting legacy through upgrades to grassroots clubs and regional facilities right across Queensland so communities can get active, stay connected and share in the benefits of the Games.”
