Golden reasons to visit Hats Off

With less than three months until Tamworth’s cool mid-year festival, organisers of the 2023 Hats Off to Country festival are excited to announce more great artists getting involved.

Golden Guitar Award-winning artists Andrew Swift, Ashleigh Dallas and Kristy Cox are coming together for their show, ‘A Golden Round’, to be held at Moonshiners on Saturday, 8 July at 7:30pm.

The trio all won the coveted Golden Guitar trophy at the 2023 Golden Guitar Awards with Andrew Swift receiving his for Male Artist of the Year, Ashleigh Dallas for Traditional Country Album of the Year for In the Moment, and Nashville-based, South Australian, Kristy Cox won Bluegrass Recording of the Year for Good Morning Moon.

The three singer-songwriters will perform and sharing personal stories about songs they’ve written in this intimate setting.

Added to the program is Fall Creek, which sees the merging of the Viper Creek Band and Hurricane Fall, two of the most exciting party bands in country music. Tickets are on sale now through the venue, West Tamworth League Club, where they’ll perform on Saturday, 8 July. It will be a party night like no other.

Tamworth Regional Council’s Country Music Coordinator Cheryl Brown said; “It’s very exciting to welcome more fantastic artists to the Hats Off to Country festival this July.”

“From songwriter rounds with multiple Golden Guitar award-winning artists, to the best country party bands in Australia, there will be something for everyone at the 2023 Hats Off to Country,” said Cheryl.

These additions follow an already star-studded list of country music performers for the 23rd Festival which includes members of the Tamworth Songwriters’ Association, the Australian Bush Balladeer Association, the CMAA Junior Academy and Beccy Cole and Adam Harvey, two of the biggest names in Australian country music.

The line-up also includes 2023 Toyota Star Maker Loren Ryan, winner of the 2023 Best of the Buskers Lane Pittman, everyone’s favourite player Duncan Toombs, Nashville-based Australian, Travis List, Lawrie and Shelley Minson, Brooke Harvey, Allison Forbes, The Versatiles, Katie Jayne, Sally-Anne Whitten, JB Paterson, Good Corn Liquor, CK & The 45s and so many more!

Chances are that any venue you drop into in Tamworth will have live music playing at this very cool winter festival where rugging up is the way we roll.

Don’t forget the crowd favourite Cowboy Crawl back for a fifth year, taking crawlers on a pub crawl like no other to a range of venues kicking off, by coach, from 5:30pm Saturday 8 July. It’s the perfect way to experience a range of great live country music and everyone leaves with new friends.
