We’ve granted 36 community organisations up to $7,500 each for projects that contribute to making Bayside an incredible place to live.
Our annual community grants support organisations to establish, extend and improve programs and services that address local needs and strengthen and enrich community life.
This year’s grants round have funded a range of programs and initiatives that support community connection, inclusion, culture, environmental sustainability, health, education and sports participation.
Community grants recipients will share in over $229,000 to offer a wide range of programs and activities to Bayside residents.
Bayside Mayor, Cr Fiona Stitfold emphasised the importance of community grants for our residents.
“Grants encourage community-led initiatives which improve health and wellbeing, promote social connection and reduce social isolation,” said Cr Stitfold.
“There is something for everyone to enjoy and I encourage our community to get involved.”
This year’s grant recipients include:
- Sandringham Life Saving Club, who are establishing Water Safety Education Classes for Seniors, which integrates lifesaving training, enhanced fitness and skill development.
- East Brighton Football Club’s Women’s Football Development Initiative is a program designed to increase female participation in football.
- The Holland Foundation’s ‘Food and Essentials Easy Delivery (FEED)’ will provide food and essential household goods to local non-for-profits and organisations.
- Share&Swap Shop is running 4 pop-up events to promote sharing of sustainability resources amongst community members.
- Castlefield Community Centre is running GrandPlay, a vibrant playgroup where grandparents and grandchildren play, laugh, and learn together.
