Latrobe City Council is reminding residents to utilise the 2023 annual hard waste collection which is open to the community during November through to December.
The service is available to residents who currently have a kerbside collection service and no bookings are required.
To participate residents can place up to two cubic metres of acceptable hard waste items outside the front of their property for collection at the nominated time for their town.
Acceptable waste items include household appliances such as hot water services, computers and fridges; furniture including couches, tables, and chairs as well as metal products like bed frames, tyre rims (with rubber removed) and car panels.
Materials not accepted include items such as general household garbage, excavated material, building rubble, engines, inflammable materials, chemicals, oils, paint, hazardous waste, grass clippings, weeds, industrial waste, and windscreens.
Please note collections are often done in two loads, one to first remove recyclable products and the second to remove the remaining waste.

Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Kellie O’Callaghan said that the response to the reintroduction of the kerbside hard waste collection late last year was well received.
“Our hard waste collection program supports Council’s efforts in environmental stewardship and sustainability in our City,” said the Mayor.
“The reintroduction of the kerbside hard waste collection was well received and will be an annual collection which occurs in the second half of the calendar year.
“This is an excellent opportunity for residents to remove waste items in a safe manner from their homes before Christmas.”
