Hawkesbury Library Service – COVID-19 Operational Update

As Richmond Branch Library is a physically smaller Library, Council is currently ensuring controls such as physical distancing are fully in place before it is reopened. Hawkesbury Library Service will continue to operate within current COVID-19 safety guidelines for physical distancing and gatherings for the safety of staff and community members, with a total of 16 people including staff allowed in the Library at any one time. Your cooperation in observing these guidelines is required and appreciated.

Click & Collect

Click and collect enables library members to borrow items from the library while complying with current health and safety directives. Click and collect service allows library members to pre-order items and collect by appointment only. Library members can reserve items online or over the phone on 4560 4460 during library opening hours. The Library will contact you to arrange a suitable time to collect them.

Library members are also encouraged to use the wide range of online resources including eBooks, eMagazines, eAudio, children’s games and activities at https://www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au/library/elibrary

New library memberships – join online at https://aurora.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au/library/Join.aspx and call the Library to complete your membership – you will be issued with an online only membership, which can be upgraded to a full membership upon showing ID at Hawkesbury Central Library.

Returning library items

All current loans have been extended until further notice, however after hours returns chutes remain available at both branches. Returned items will be quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours before being available.

Service update

The public access computers and WIFI will not be available during this initial phase, however library members will be able to photocopy, scan from a USB and print from their own device (by online webprint).

Public access to computers, print and copy services, newspapers and public WiFi are not currently available.

Meeting rooms, study rooms, desks and other seating spaces are not currently available.

The Justice of the Peace service is not currently available.
