Help shape future of Norah Head’s new community hall

We are pleased to have announced a $935,000 grant has been received from the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund to build a new community hall at Norah Head, with preliminary plans now available to view and open for community consultation.

The preliminary plans are available to view at Your Voice Our Coast, and include a large multifunctional hall, modern kitchen, accessible toilets, storage and relocated play equipment.

You are invited to submit your feedback on the draft design, which is open for consultation until 11 September.

Here’s how you can have your say:

  • Online – Ask questions with responses made publicly available online or submit feedback via an online form.
  • In-person – Register to attend the free Information Session Monday 22 August at 6.30pm-7.30pm held at Soldiers Beach Surf Club. Spaces are limited, so be sure to register for the event via our dedicated Eventbrite page.

We believe the community’s voice is central to the development of new infrastructure and are pleased to be offering you the opportunity to have your say on the draft plans and help shape the future of the much-loved Norah Head community hall.

We look forward to seeing the community’s influence on the final design and will continue our efforts to ensure new infrastructure reflects the needs of the Norah Head community and landscape, while enhancing liveability of its wider region both now and into the future.

Plans to build a new multi-use hall were outlined in the Masterplan for Norah Head Village 2017, followed by extensive community consultation in 2019. The Masterplan proposed to relocate the existing amenities building and provide services for community events.

The construction of a new Community Hall is one of several projects included in Council’s Delivery Program 2022-23 to 2024-25 which will deliver new infrastructure and upgraded facilities in Norah Head. Some other projects include the renewal of beach access to Jenny Dixon and Soldiers beach following impacts from coastal erosion, renovation to cabins at the Norah Head Holiday Park, Soldiers Beach Kiosk fit-out and sewer main upgrades at Bungary Rd.
