High-range drink-driver charged after crashing into four parked vehicles, NSW

A man has been charged after allegedly crashing into four parked vehicles while more than three times over the legal limit in Sydney’s inner west today.

About 3.30am (Saturday 22 February 2020), officers from Inner West Police Area Command were patrolling on Wardell Road, Marrickville, when they were stopped by a member of the public.

Officers located four vehicles parked on the street, suffering damage, and a fifth vehicle, a Mazda 3 sedan, that had mounted the kerb.

No one was injured.

The driver of the Mazda, a 28-year-old man, underwent a roadside breath test, which allegedly returned a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Mascot Police Station, where he was subjected to a breath analysis that allegedly returned a reading of 0.157.

The Dulwich Hill man was charged with drive with high-range PCA.

Police will allege in court that the man had collided with the parked vehicles while driving under the influence.

He was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Newtown Local Court on Tuesday 24 March 2020.
