Homicide investigation at Nambour

A man is in custody as police continue to investigate the suspicious death of a woman at Nambour this morning.

Around 1.30am, police were called to Matthew Street, Nambour following reports a woman had been seriously assaulted.

Emergency services attended however the 31-year-old Buddina woman was declared deceased at the scene.

Officers with the assistance of Sunshine Coast Dog Squad, conducted searches of the surrounding area and later located a 34-year-old Burnside man.

A crime scene has been declared and an Incident Centre established with detectives from the Sunshine Coast and forensic officers continuing their investigations.
