Emergency services were called to an address in Gentles Avenue Campbellfield about 10.10pm on 20 December after reports a man had been shot.
On arrival police located a man with life-threatening injuries.
He was transported to hospital but died.
A crime scene is in place and Homicide Squad detectives are attending.
