NSW residents are being urged to prepare for the upcoming bushfire season.
Residents can get ready for the upcoming bushfire season by making sure their home is prepared and bushfire plan is up to date.
Top four tips to prepare for the bushfire season:
- discuss what to do if a bushfire threatens your home
- prepare your home and get it ready for bushfire season
- know the bushfire alert levels
- keep all the bushfire information numbers, websites and the Fires Near Me app handy.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the NSW Government has worked closely with the Rural Fire Service (RFS) and Resilience NSW to ensure the state is as prepared as it can be for the upcoming bushfire season.
“We are as prepared as we can be, but it’s also important the community understands the important role they play in having a well-prepared property and fire plan,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“It takes five minutes to make or improve a plan that will give your property and your family the best chance of survival should you be threatened by a bushfire.”
