Hume City Council congratulates Premier Daniel Andrews and the Victorian Labor Party on winning the 2022 State Election and looks forward to continuing to work with them as we build a better Hume.
Council also congratulates The Hon Ros Spence MP, Member for Kalkallo, Josh Bull MP, Member for Sunbury, Kathleen Matthews-Ward MP, Member for Broadmeadows, and Iwan Walters MP, Member for Greenvale.
Building better infrastructure, providing improved opportunities for residents, and restoring community connections are key passions of Hume City’s Mayor, Councillor Joseph Haweil.
Council looks forward to working with the Victorian Labor Government to support their delivery of election commitments, including:
$1.3 million for the installation of a new all-ages and abilities waterplay park at Sunbury Aquatic and Leisure Centre
$60-85 million to construct two brand-new TAFE campuses in Sunbury and Melton – two of the fastest-growing communities in Australia.
Funding for upgrades to the Meadow Heights Dog Park
New water play space in the Mickleham/Kalkallo/Donnybrook growth corridor
$11.7 million towards the expansion and upgrade of Gladstone Park Secondary College
Hume City Council Mayor, Councillor Joseph Haweil said:

“In the next 10 years, we expect to welcome an additional 70,000 residents to Hume City. We will continue to prioritise Government partnerships and investment in our community to ensure we have the right infrastructure and services in place to see Hume thrive.”
“In particular, I look forward to meeting with the new Government to discuss how we can work together to secure funding for better arterial roads, greater support for community health and future investment in social housing.”
