Work has begun to improve the crossing for school children on Reserve Road in Beaumaris, servicing Beaumaris Secondary College.
This crossing will improve safety for school children attending the Secondary College, as well as families attending Minnows Early Learning Centre and Beaumaris Playhouse.
Kerbs on either side of the crossing will be extended to:
- Shorten the crossing distance for pedestrians
- Improve visibility between pedestrians and motorists
- Encourage drivers to slow down
- Discourage the use of the parking lane for through traffic
To minimise disruption, this project will be completed during the current school holiday period (30 March – 14 April 2020), weather permitting.
Through traffic access on Reserve Road adjacent to the works area will be maintained during the improvement works, with appropriate traffic management in place.
