Increase in DVA fees for dental and allied health items

Effective 1 July 2020, Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) fees for dental and allied health items and most medical services were indexed by 1.5%.

The updated fee schedule is available on the DVA website.

Australian Defence Force veterans are eligible to receive a range of medical services from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs including free or subsidised treatment from any dentist registered to provide services through the Medicare Benefits Scheme. Veterans are issued with either a Gold Card or White Card which provide either free or subsidised treatments.

Dentists with a Medicare provider number are automatically able to provide services to eligible veterans although they are still required to register with the DVA.

All treatments provided to veterans must be completed, without exception, in full compliance with the conditions, treatment codes, fees and conditions set down by the DVA.
