Information On EME Now Available In Multiple Languages

Dept of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications

Understanding how modern telecommunications work is important for everyone in the community. To help make this information more accessible, we have developed a suite of translated resources about electromagnetic energy (EME) from telecommunications.

The resources are available in Arabic, Cantonese, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Mandarin, Punjabi, Spanish, Tagalog/Filipino and Vietnamese.

These resources are designed to support culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities by providing clear, evidence-based information in a range of commonly spoken languages in Australia.

The translated resources cover a variety of topics, including:

  • how mobile networks work
  • the science of safe connection
  • EME exposure limits
  • telecommunications infrastructure near homes
  • the regulation that underpins telecommunications infrastructure in Australia.

The resources form part of our EME Communication Program, which provides information on the research, regulation and safety of EME from telecommunications.

Community leaders and organisations are encouraged to share these resources within their networks to help ensure information about EME from telecommunications is accessible to all Australians.

The translated resources are available in the EME resources hub.
