Inquiries continue after man shot, NSW

A woman has been arrested as inquiries continue into a shooting in Sydney’s west overnight.

About 11pm yesterday (Saturday 31 July 2021), emergency services were called to Lawson Street, Lalor Park, following reports a man had been shot.

Officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command attended and found a 27-year-old man with a wound to his right foot.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition. His injury is not considered to be life-threatening.

Police spoke with a man and woman at the scene and were told a third man fled on foot.

A crime scene was established, and police commenced a canvas of the surrounding area with assistance from the Dog Unit and Pol Air. The man was not located.

A second crime scene was established at Mitchell Street after a firearm was located.

The woman, aged 27, was arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station where she is assisting police with inquiries.
