Inspiring SA Women’s Award nominations now open

Nominations are now open for the Inspiring South Australian Women’s Award 2021, an Australia Day award that recognises the outstanding contribution women make to the South Australian community.

In its 10th year, the award has two categories – the Inspiring SA Women’s Award and the Emerging Leader’s Award, plus the option to include a Commendation Award.

Minister for Human Services Michelle Lensink said the annual award acknowledged inspiring women who are unsung heroes in our community.

“South Australia is lucky to have many inspiring women of all backgrounds who are making outstanding contributions in their field in the community,” said Minister Lensink.

“There’s no doubt many women are making a real difference and the Inspiring South Australian Women’s Award is a chance for us to recognise their work and say thank you.

“Nominations are encouraged from women working or volunteering in areas including health, education, disability, science and medicine, arts and the media, sport and recreation, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander initiatives and the prevention of violence.”

The award is part of the Australia Day awards and honours. The selection panel will consist of representatives from the Office for Women, the Premier’s Council for Women, and the Australia Day Council of South Australia.

Minister Lensink will present the awards at the Australia Day Awards Ceremony at Government House.

Nominations close on November 1, and information is available at australiadaysa.com.au.
