International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated around the world on 8 March, arising out of labour movements at the turn of the twentieth century in North America and Europe.
Since then, the growing International Women’s Day movement has helped make IWD a central point of action to build support for women’s rights and their full participation in the economy, politics, community and everyday life. There are many events happening to celebrate, including the ones below.
