Invermay man charged with multiple crimes

Police have charged a 29-year-old Invermay man with multiple offences following a burglary at an unoccupied Airbnb in Invermay yesterday.

Police from Launceston Uniform, Northern Forensics and Launceston CIB attended.

As a result of initial investigations undertaken, Launceston CIB attended and conducted a search of an Invermay residence yesterday afternoon.

As a result of the search detectives located all the stolen property from the Invermay burglary plus property from other crimes committed in the Launceston area over the past several weeks.

In total over $15,000 worth of jewellery, power tools, electrical products and household items were recovered.

A 29-year-old Invermay man was arrested and interviewed by Launceston CIB. He has been charged with:

  • Burglary x 6
  • Aggravated Burglary x 5
  • Stealing x 8
  • SMV x 1
  • Fraud
  • Minor Drug Offences (Cannabis).

The man was granted bail and will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court in October.
