Homicide Squad detectives continue to investigate the death of a woman in Shepparton last night.
Emergency services responded to reports of a woman with serious injuries at an address on McCubbin Drive about 6.10pm.
A 27-year-old Shepparton woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A 28-year-old Shepparton man was assisting police with their enquiries and since been released.
Detectives are working to establish the exact circumstances of the incident and the investigation remains ongoing.
