Homicide Squad detectives are investigating following a fatal shooting in Yarraville this morning.
Emergency services were called to Salisbury Street shortly before 10.30am.
A 25-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man, both from Yarraville, had been shot in the upper body outside a residential property.
The woman died at the scene and the man was conveyed to hospital with life threatening injuries.
A 55-year-old Altona North man was also conveyed to hospital under police guard with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
A firearm was subsequently recovered at the scene.
All parties involved in the incident are known to each other.
While the exact circumstances regarding the shooting are yet to be determined, police are not looking for any further offenders and there is no ongoing risk to the community.
