Irresponsible driving near Gawler, South Australia

Gawler patrols nabbed a drunk and speeding P-plater at Kudla early this morning.

Just before 1.30am Saturday 30 November, police were conducting speed detection duties on Main North Road then they allegedly detected a Holden ute travelling north at 149km/h in and 90km/h zone.

Patrols were able to stop the car on Tiver River Road at Evanston South and speak to the driver, a 19-year-old Williamstown man. The man was breath tested and allegedly returned a positive reading on 0.91.

The man was reported for excessive speed, breaching his provisional conditions and drink driving, he will be summonsed to court at a later date. He was also lost his licence on the spot for six months and his car was impounded for 28 days.
