Is $54 million enough to spend on water and sewer?

Within Kempsey Shire Council’s draft 2022-23 budget, $54 million is allocated towards constructing, maintaining and renewing water and sewer infrastructure.

Key projects included in these funds are:

  • Maintaining and renewing water infrastructure
  • Developing plans new water treatment plants at Willawarrin and Crescent Head
  • Progressing the installation of an emergency water treatment plant at Steuart McIntyre Dam to safeguard water supply to Kempsey and Lower Macleay
