Wednesday, 13 March 2024: Jetstar is providing greater choice and travel options for Territorians – adding 54,000 new low fares seats over coming months by boosting flight frequency and operating larger aircraft on domestic and Bali routes.

Over the next seven months from April to October, the low-cost carrier will:

  • Increase weekly services during periods of higher demand on Darwin to Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide, as well as Sydney to Uluru.
  • Upgrade from A320 to larger A321ceo aircraft between Darwin and Melbourne from 3 July.
  • And fly larger Airbus A321neo LRs – the newest aircraft in Jetstar’s fleet – between Darwin and Bali and Adelaide from August 2.

In total, the changes will add 54,000 new low fares seats each year to and from Darwin – a total increase of 12% compared to existing services.

22,000 of the new seats are on the Sydney to Uluru route, with an extra two flights a week bringing thousands more tourists to the heart of Australia.

Once operating, the A321neo LR will open more than 2200 new seats on Darwin to Bali between August and October.
