Join ACT Heritage Council in 2021

Registrations are now open for expressions of interest to join the ACT Heritage Council.

Minister for the Environment and Heritage Mick Gentleman said the Council is looking for a wide range of expertise.

“I’m encouraging applicants with expertise in Aboriginal culture, Aboriginal history, archaeology, architecture, engineering, history, landscape architecture, conservation, town planning and urban design,” Minister Gentleman said.

“Several positions on the council are expiring in early 2021, including the positions of Chair and Deputy Chair.

“David Flannery and Dr Ken Heffernan have made a significant contribution to our community during their time in these roles and I thank them for their dedication and expertise.

“Our region is home to many special heritage places and objects from our natural, Aboriginal and European past. The Council plays an important role in conservation and highlighting many fascinating stories that Canberra’s heritage tells.”

Expressions of interest need to be submitted using the application form available at www.environment.act.gov.au/heritage or by calling Access Canberra on 13 22 81.

The closing date for applications is 14 August 2020.
