Just in time for summer: Improved Optus mobile coverage receives warm welcome in Port Macquarie

Along with two more new sites planned before the end of the year

Lifes a beach and its gotten even better for locals of the coastal town of Port Macquarie after Optus switched on a new tower in the area, delivering even better mobile coverage and connectivity.

The tower, located along Denham Street, will enhance in-building coverage around Settlement City Shopping Centre and along Hastings River Drive, whilst also easing the load on other sites in the area to take customers existing experience to the next level.

As part of Optus investment in Port Macquarie, another two sites are expected to be delivered before the end of the year, representing an investment of $1.9 million. These sites include one at Lakewood as well as a new site enhancing mobile coverage along the Oxley highway between the hospital and Pacific Motorway interchange.

Optus Territory General Manager for Mid North Coast NSW, Chris Simon said, We are continuously looking to increase Optus network coverage footprint outside metropolitan areas and offer real choice and value for residents, with the new site in Port Macquarie being central to this commitment.

We are thrilled to be improving coverage across Port Macquarie, ensuring even stronger mobile coverage and data access for those working, living and travelling through the area.

Considering the easing restrictions around domestic travel in parts of the country as well as with the weather starting to warm up, we know more people will be enjoying this beautiful coastal town. Customers will be pleased to know that thanks to this new site, they can now capture and share their adventures even faster.

The improved coverage will also assist local hospitality outlets as the region moves into the business summer trading period. Flower Hotels Managing Director, Alistair Flower welcomed the new mobile tower site, across the road from the Settlers Inn.
