A man has died whilst kayaking on the Nepean River in the Hawkesbury district.
About 1.20pm today (Thursday 2 December 2021), emergency services were called to the Nepean River, near Springwood Road at Yarramundi, following reports a man was seen and heard calling for assistance in the water before disappearing underneath.
Officers from the Hawkesbury Police Area Command, with the assistance of PolAir, State Emergency Services, Rural Fire Service, NSW Ambulance and Fire and Rescue NSW, commenced a search for the man.
A short time later an overturned kayak was located.
About 5pm police divers attended and assisting in the search and located the body of a 36-year-old man just after 6pm.
A brief will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
