Homicide Squad detectives have charged a 39-year-old man as part of an ongoing investigation into the death of a 51-year-old man in Kensington on Monday 25 September 2023.
The 39-year-old man has been charged with:
– With intent to harm, unlawfully did an act as a result of which the life, health or safety of a person was or was likely to be endangered
He was refused bail and is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today, Wednesday 27 September 2023.
The man has also been charged in relation to an incident at Royal Perth Hospital yesterday, Tuesday 26 September 2023, while he was under police guard. He has been charged with:
– Attempt to Escape from Lawful Custody
– Assault Public Officer
– Obstructing Public Officers
He is due to appear on those charges at the same court appearance today.
The investigation into the death of the 51-year-old man is ongoing, and detectives may review the charge pending the results of a post-mortem examination.
