Large sum of cash and drugs located at Logan

Police have allegedly located over $49,000 in cash in a baby wipe container during a traffic intercept at Sunnybank yesterday.

Around 11am police intercepted a car on Compton Road at Sunnybank and due to the suspicious behaviour of the two occupants, a 37-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, a search of the vehicle was conducted.

During the search police allegedly located $49, 980 in cash in a baby wipe container in the rear of the car.

This discovery led police back to a residence at Stretton where an investigative search warrant was executed on a townhouse.

At this location police allegedly located 12 live rounds of shot gun gauge ammunition and a large number of clip seal bags with crystal residue which was tested and confirmed to be methylamphetamine.

A 24-year-old woman from Stretton has been charged with possessing dangerous drugs and authority required to possess explosives.

She is due to face Richlands Magistrates Court on October 14.

Police investigations are ongoing.
