Latest DAs show more newcomers to Orange’s shopping precinct

The latest batch of development applications lodged with Orange City Council for the former Myer building show the soon-to-open new shopping centre will include even more retail newcomers to Orange.

Orange City Council is the planning authority which is required to assess development applications from new tenants in the building, covering factors such as shop-fittings, fire safety, trade waste and street front signage. The tenancies are chosen by arrangements between the developer and the business.

The latest list of businesses to open in the new shopping centre includes two that are moving into the new shopping centre from other locations in Orange.

  • Orange Health Food – health foods
  • Bonds – clothing
  • Angus & Coote – Jewellery – Summer St frontage
  • Yoshi Sushi – Sushi café to open in Post Office Lane
  • Noodle Time – Food court tenant
  • Indian Delight – Food court tenant
  • Little Snack Shack – Food court tenant

Orange mayor Cr Reg Kidd said he was pleased to see how many new businesses are moving to town to take up the opportunity offered by the new shopping centre.

“I know the people of Orange are looking forward to seeing the new upgraded shopping centre in action,” Cr Reg Kidd said. “It’s good to welcome new brands to town and it’s also good to see existing businesses making the most of a new opportunity by moving to a fresh location.
