Lester Blades CEO Advert

Chief Executive Officer

March 2018 was the point at which things started to change at the City of Perth. Since then, the Commissioners and CEO have done an enormous amount of the hard work to reposition the administration and reputation of the City, particularly around integrated strategy, stakeholder relations, policy review, and organisation culture.

This has culminated in the recent adoption by the Commissioners of the 2019 to 2029 Strategic Community Plan, the essence of which is the community’s aspiration for the City to be “Vibrant, Connected, Progressive”. See www.perth.wa.gov.au

With much of this “heavy lifting” completed, and a high calibre executive team now in place, it is a great opportunity for the incoming CEO to really “hit the ground running” and deliver on the community’s vision.

The next CEO of the City of Perth must bring the kind of strategic leadership, relationship management and interpersonal capabilities that truly reflect the distinct leadership role that Perth has as the Capital City Authority of Western Australia. As CEO, you lead a team of professionals serving and balancing the needs of residents, commerce, retail businesses, city workers and local, national and international visitors, whilst also managing some quite outstanding public assets on behalf of all Western Australians.

Prospective applicants must demonstrate the full suite of capabilities and qualifications normally associated with a CEO position at this level, together with an impeccable and proven track record of success and achievement in a comparable role. Council is interested in receiving applications from professionals from both the public and private sectors.
