Shadow Health Minister, Sarah Lovell, said the Hodgman Minority Government should be ashamed of the latest data from its human services dashboard.
“We now have 9601 Tasmanians languishing on the surgery waiting list – an increase of 169 from last quarter,” Ms Lovell said.
“This follows the Hodgman Health Razor Gang slashing elective surgeries in Tasmanian hospitals by 15 percent.
“The data also shows outpatient wait time has gone up by an alarming 2250 in the last quarter to 33,488 and ambulance response times have also gone up.
“The average wait for priority public housing is up to a massive 67 weeks, up 17 weeks from the last quarter.
“The Government was so ashamed by this latest data that it desperately tried to hide the figures by releasing them late Friday in the midst of the AFL Grand Final hype.
“We’re in the middle of a health and housing crisis and Will Hodgman is completely oblivious.
“Vulnerable Tasmanians have yet again been let down by a Government incapable of seeing beyond its own chaos and dysfunction.”
