- Lightscape returns to Kings Park from 5 June to 26 July

- Cook Labor Government diversifying the economy by fostering vibrant and creative communities
Perth’s most dazzling wintertime experience Lightscape launches tomorrow at Kings Park and Botanic Garden with another unforgettable after-dark experience.
The seven-week event will once again invite audiences to explore the Western Australian Botanic Garden in an entirely new light, with installations from around the world revealing surprises around every corner.
Visitors old and new will be wowed by extraordinary new arrivals, including light-morphing shadow lanterns, a kaleidoscopic tunnel of squares, magical illuminated flowers floating high amidst the canopy, and awe-inspiring sculptures that tower above the event trail.
Amid the surrounds of beautiful native gardens, visitors will also discover illuminations capturing nature’s wonder, including the intricate world of fungi and the transient forms of seeds.
Lightscape also maintains a uniquely community connection, with previous years capturing artworks from school children in lanterns, projections, and columns of light.
This year continues that important link, with the arrival of ‘Conservation Cubes’, featuring acrostic poems written by children and paired with their own recorded readings.
Lightscape is presented in partnership with the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority and Sony Music Entertainment Australia, powered by Hancock Iron Ore, with support from the City of Perth and media partner Channel 9.
The event runs Wednesday to Sunday evenings from 5 June to 26 July, with additional dates during school holidays.
Tickets start at $36 for adults and $96 for a family pass and are available via Ticketek.
As stated by the Environment Minister Matthew Swinbourn:
“Lightscape brings the Perth community together every year with its international artistry mixed with a uniquely local connection.
“The crafted trail and floral sculptures inspire a new understanding of our State’s biodiversity amid the magnificent Western Australian Botanic Garden.
“Lightscape continues to grow each year – don’t miss it.”
