Logan Libraries deliver money saving hints for festive fun

City of Logan artist Mary Elizabeth Barron will demonstrate how to craft some rustic Christmas charm in a free workshop at Mayes Cottage.
Artist Mary Elizabeth Barron will help people craft a beautiful Christmas decoration in workshops at Mayes Cottage during December.

Budget-friendly will be the focus of upcoming workshops at Logan Libraries.

The city’s libraries will be hosting a series of workshops aimed at making the festive season a joyful but less expensive time.

The program revolves around do-it-yourself (DIY) options that are about giving from the heart when planning budget-friendly meals, decorations, gifts and activities.

City Lifestyle Chair, Councillor Laurie Koranski said Logan Libraries would share some interesting DIY ideas with the community on how to celebrate Christmas 2022 without breaking the bank.

“We understand many people are facing increasing cost-of-living pressures currently and we want to show them how they can still enjoy the festive season within a budget,” Cr Koranski said.

“In the past, people mostly made homemade gifts for Christmas as these were both cost-effective and from the heart.

“By returning to these ways, it still allows people to celebrate in a way they can budget for.

“We invite everyone to get ready for the Christmas countdown by attending our fun, friendly and easy crafting workshops.”

The workshops on offer during November and December include:
