Lynch needs to stick to facts and get back to negotiating in good faith

Peter Gutwein,Treasurer

The Hodgman Liberal Government remains of the belief that our hard working public servants deserve a fair and affordable pay rise.

It has been the consistent position of the Government that public sector wage increases over 2 per cent per annum must be offset by savings and efficiencies.

Claims today by Community and Public Sector Union boss, Tom Lynch, that wage increases have not been properly factored in to upcoming State Budget are false.

The best thing that Mr Lynch can do is to bring a sensible range of savings options to the negotiating table or agree to those that have been suggested.

We are committed to good faith negotiations with unions that will enable us to deliver a wage rise for their members.
