Machetes and sawn-off shotgun produced during armed robbery in Villawood

Police are investigating an armed robbery in Sydney’s south west overnight.

Shortly before 10pm (Wednesday 12 August 2020), three men armed with two machetes and a sawn-off shotgun entered a licenced premise on Woodville Road, Villawood.

While inside the premises the men have approached a 31 year old employee and threatened him while demanding money from the register. The staff member complied and handed over an amount of cash before the armed men ran from the location, last seen on Woodville Road towards Hillcrest Ave.

Staff and other patrons were not hurt during the robbery.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene. Detectives have now commenced an investigation and would like to speak with anyone who may be able to assist.

The first man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, of a solid build, wearing a black hooded jumper, black track pants, white shoes and a black face covering.

The second man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, of a solid build, wearing a black hooded jumper, navy trackpants and a red face covering.

The third man is described as of an Asian appearance, with a slim build, wearing a blue hooded jumper, grey trackpants, black shoes and a black face covering.
